The Monheim Triennale II – The Festival ended on Sunday. With over 50 events over five days, including sixteen premieres, a film screening of The Prequel documentary “Every Note You Play” as well as many duo and solo concerts and a long party night with three DJ sets, it offered an intense experience.

A cross-section of contemporary projects with musicians whose work crosses borders - cultural, disciplinary and technological.

The 16 Signature Artists came from Australia, Germany, Georgia, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Canada, the UK, the USA, Japan, Palestine and Iran, among others. For their Signature Projects this year, they brought in a further 100 outstanding international guest musicians (from countries including: Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Indonesia, Bali, Belgium, Taiwan, Syria, Iran, Mexico).

Over 120 musicians and pupils from Monheim am Rhein were involved in the many local Cooperations Projects with the international musicians who had traveled to The Festival.

In an emotional finale, singers Rabih Lahoud and Peni Candra Rini invited the audience in the packed Altstadtkirche on Sunday to join in.

The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger headlined: “The Monheim Triennale offers outstanding”. The five venues were bursting at the seams on all festival days - all tickets for the Festival Boat, Altstadtkirche, Marienkapelle, Sojus 7 and the Villa am Greisbachsee  were completely sold out.

The Monheim Triennale would like to thank the audience and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
