Local cooperations
The collaboration between the local music scene and festival artists will continue during The Prequel. The Peter Evans Workshop Ensemble will take the stage on Thursday, July 4, at 4 p.m. In a long-term process, a group of musicians from Monheim rehearsed Peter Evans’ compositions and developed their own ensemble sound. In the days leading up to the festival, the composer and ensemble will meet for intensive rehearsals.

On Friday, July 5, at 4 p.m., the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium vocal ensemble will present the project “The Living Song II” together with Shahzad Ismaily, Darius Jones and Julia Úlehla. The title is Julia Úlehla’s own, referring to the ethnomusicological research of her great-grandfather, who archived Moravian folk music in the early 20th century. Some of these songs have been arranged for The Prequel by the MiO Choir under the direction of Natalie Hüskens.
