Gans Schräg, choir of the Monheim music school, conductor: Christopher Esch

Anushka Chkheidze: electronics, piano, composition (world premiere)

Brighde Chaimbeul: small pipe

Achim Tang: double bass

For the 2023 Sound Art Festival, Anushka Chkheidze collaborated for the first time with the ”Bunter Chor“, which has been appreciated in Monheim for many years as a cross-generational musical offering. At that time, the wonderful installation ´Lost Lullaby´ was created – and Chkheidze had the idea of writing her own composition for choir.

After intensive preparation, the M.A.M.M. vocal ensemble and singers from the Bunte Chor will now premiere this composition, which combines electro-acoustic elements, improvised and composed parts to create an overall sound.

The second part of the concert will be performed by the GANS Schräg choir, which is part of the Monheim music school. Originally started as a ‘shanty choir’, GANS Schräg now has a varied repertoire and has performed at the Baumberg Christmas market as well as on the Sojus 7 boat tour.

For the Monheim Triennale, the choir will meet Brighde Chaimbeul and perform a series of traditional traditional Scottish songs together with her.
