The Festival
July 2 – 6, 2025
Following the successful The Prequel 2024, where the Signature Artists of Monheim Triennale II got to know each other and introduced themselves to the public, the grand The Festival will take place from July 2 – 6, 2025 as the highlight and conclusion of Monheim Triennale II.
In the run-up to The Festival, several artists will be giving guest performances at the Villa am Greisbachsee, the Monheim Triennale’s new artist residency. You can find more information in the news section or subscribe to our newsletter.
The Monheim Triennale is a three-year cycle of events in which pioneering artistic positions in contemporary music can be heard and interact with each other across styles. Current improvised, composed and popular music are brought together on an equal footing. The interwoven editions in terms of content and personnel are called The Sound, The Prequel and The Festival.
The Monheim Triennale II began in 2023 with The Sound art exhibition The Sound in the city’s public spaces. The Prequel, the workshop edition of the Monheim Triennale, took place in 2024 and introduced the new generation of Signature Artists 2024/25.
The Monheim Triennale goes beyond the mere presentation of concerts and creates open spaces for artistic encounters, productions and experiments. The invited artists can be heard several times with and in exclusive, new formats, allowing the audience to participate in the full range of their work.
The Festival is the highlight of a Monheim Triennale, where the Signature Artists present their exclusive music and sound projects. These Signature Projects are characterised entirely by the special artist constellations, the city of Monheim am Rhein and the people in the city.
The Monheim Triennale offers all interested people the opportunity to encounter this contemporary art directly in a variety of collaborations with local ensembles, schools and other educational organisations and to be a part of it through concerts or workshops, for example.
