On Saturday, April 27, 1 pm, Ingrid Laubrock, Signature Artist of the first Monheim Triennale 2021 – 2022, will give a house concert at the Villa am Greisbachsee together with pianist Marta Warelis.

Ingrid Laubrock is a saxophonist and composer who creates multi-layered, dense and often suggestive soundscapes. A prolific composer, Laubrock has been called a “true visionary” by pianist and artistic director of the Kennedy Center, Jason Moran. She is the recipient of the 2019 Herb Alpert Ragdale Prize in Music Composition and the 2021 Berklee Institute of Gender Justice Women Composers Collection Grant.

Last year she performed together with the Polish pianist Marta Warelis, who lives and works in Amsterdam, at IBeam Brooklyn. IBeam is an artist-run venue for jazz, improvised and experimental music. Warelis has already worked with Michael Moore, Wilbert de Joode, Andy Moor, the Xavier Pamplona Septet and the band Bazooka, among others.

The Villa am Greisbachsee has been available to the Monheim Triennale as an artist residency since fall 2023. As seating capacity is limited, an invitation to the concert is required. To receive an invitation, please send a short message to the following address: info@monheim-triennale.de
Admission to the event is free.
