Monheim Triennale project choir, consisting of the M.A.M.M. Vokalensemble with singers from Monheim, Leverkusen, Düsseldorf and Duisburg as well as Bunter Chor Monheim with singers from Monheim am Rhein, conductor: Rabih Lahoud
Gans Schräg, choir of the Monheim music school, conductor: Christopher Esch

Anushka Chkheidze: electronics, piano, composition (world premiere)
Brighde Chaimbeul: small pipe
Achim Tang: double bass

For the 2023 Sound Art Festival, Anushka Chkheidze collaborated for the first time with the Colourful Choir, which has been appreciated in Monheim for many years as a cross-generational musical offering. At that time, the wonderful installation ´Lost Lullaby´ was created – and Chkheidze had the idea of writing her own composition for choir.

After intensive preparation, this composition will now be premiered with the help of a specially assembled project choir, combining electro-acoustic elements, improvised and composed parts to create an overall sound.

The second part of the concert will be performed by M.A.M.M. Vokalensemble and the Gans Schräg choir, which is part of the Monheim music school. Originally started as a ‘shanty choir’, Gans Schräg now has a diverse repertoire and has performed at the Baumberg Christmas market as well as on the Sojus 7 boat tour.

For the Monheim Triennale, the choirs will be joined by Brighde Chaimbeul to perform a series of traditional Scottish songs.
