Born in Vancouver, Canada, and now living in Boston after New York, pianist Kris Davis is without a doubt one of the most striking and influential musicians of our time. Among many other prizes and awards, she was recently awarded the Doris Duke Artist Award together with Wayne Shorter. For the New York Times, it's simple: if you want to decide which jazz concert to attend, all you have to do is look up where and when Kris Davis is playing. You can get a first impression of her in the livestream with our artist in residence Achim Tang.
For her "Signature" project, Kris Davis is bringing her "Emergence Quartet" with Milena Casada, Ivanna Cuesta and Noah Garabedian to Europe for the first time.
