Being & Becoming + Voices Part I

Sofia Jernberg: vocals

At the heart of the project was Evans’ trio Being & Becoming, featuring Tyshawn Sorey on drums and three vocalists. One of them was Sofia Jernberg, Signature Artist of Monheim Triennale I, who brought Evans to Monheim in 2022. Now Evans brought Jernberg back.

Also included were Alice Tessier, flautist and classical singer, and Mazz Swift, violinist and vocalist. As for the composition, Evans frequently returns to the structure of a Bach cantata.

The project was in two parts and was presented on consecutive days.
