Shuttle service

We have organised a shuttle service from/to the main railway stations in Düsseldorf and Cologne. The shuttle is free of charge, but registration is necessary at info@monheim-triennale.de.

The departure in Düsseldorf is at

The departure in Cologne is at
Breslauer Platz,
bus platform B,
departure line “Monheim Triennale”.

5 p.m.: Düsseldorf Main station – Monheim jetty
5 p.m.: Cologne Main station – Monheim jetty

24 o’clock: Monheim jetty – Düsseldorf Main station

5 p.m.: Düsseldorf Main station – Monheim jetty

Public transport

Monheim am Rhein is currently only to reach via a rail replacement service. The buses commute at regular intervals between the stations and Monheim city centre. More information you find here.

Langenfeld (Rhineland): Bus 790, 791
Langenfeld-Berghausen: Bus 777, SB78
Düsseldorf-Hellerhof: Bus 789 (approx. 12 minutes to H Comfort Hotel/Deusser-Haus, Monheim am Rhein)

Would you like to travel by regional train? Simply take the RE1 or RE5 to Düsseldorf-Benrath and then take the bus line 788 to Monheim am Rhein.

Car

Monheim am Rhein is located between Cologne and Düsseldorf and can be reached via A59, A3 and A542. To get to the festival boat:

Cologne: 40 minutes
Düsseldorf: 30 minutes
Essen: 45 minutes
Hamburg: 4 hours
Munich: 6 hours
Berlin: 5 hours
Amsterdam: 3 hours

Parking

• Car park at the Rheinstadion: Kapellenstraße 19 (walking distance: 7 min.)
• Car garage Monberg: Rheinpromenade 7 (walking distance: 10 min.)
• Car park Turmstr. (opposite Schützenplatz, walking distance: 12 min.)
• Hikers’ car park Altstadt, Am Werth 1 (walking distance: 12 min.)
• Car park at Kielsgraben (opposite Bürgerwiese Baumberg, walking distance: 15 min.)

Airplane

Due to its central location between the metropolitan areas of Cologne and Düsseldorf, Monheim am Rhein can be reached via two major airports:

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)
Take the regional train to Aachen, get off at Düsseldorf-Benrath. From there you can easily take the bus to Monheim.

Cologne/Bonn Airport (CGN)
Take the regional train (RB 27) in the direction of Minden or the S19 in direction of Düren, get off at Cologne Trade Fair (Köln Messe/Deutz). From there you can take the S6 to Essen and get off at Langenfeld. Here the bus is already waiting to take you to the city centre of Monheim.

Bicycle

Although all the venues are within walking distance, it can be practical, especially during a longer stay, to explore the most beautiful places in Monheim by bicycle or to take a bicycle tour along the Rhine promenade. Tip: Discover Monheim
