The Prequel starts with a “Round Robin” on Thursday, July 4, 2024, 7 p.m. on the festival ship MS RheinFantasie. The “Round Robin” is an ideal format for getting to know the signature artists: the musicians take turns on stage and play together in changing duo formations.

Peter Evans opens the second part of the evening with a requested line-up, the “Electronic Quartet” with Muqata’a, Ludwig Wandinger and Rojin Sharafi.
Heiner Goebbels will then play a requested duo with Brìghde Chaimbeul.
Finally, Darius Jones, Ganavya Doraiswamy and Julia Úlehla will perform ”Voices“ on the stage of the festival boat.

The first day ends at 11 p.m. with “Musikmaschine” at the socio-cultural center Sojus 7, within walking distance of the festival boat. Together with Anushka Chkheidze, Rojin Sharafi and Ludwig Wandinger, it will be a special evening between jam session, electronic music laboratory, party and performance.

As on all festival days, artist talks will take place in the afternoon from 3 p.m., the Peter Evans Workshop Ensemblewill present itself as the first local cooperation with Monheim musicians and Darius Jones will play a solo set in the Marienkapelle.
